Project Detail

Roadway Express Freight Transfer Facility

Conditional Use Permit Processing  |  San Bernardino County, California

Applied Planning, Inc. assisted Roadway Express, Inc. in obtaining approval for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) which allows the relocation and consolidation of several existing freight transfer facilities onto a 50-acre site in Bloomington, California. The process involved guiding the CUP application through multiple levels of staff review by various departments at the County of San Bernardino, along with the direction of technical consultants who prepared environmental analyses on traffic, noise, and air quality, which were incorporated in a comprehensive Environmental Impact Report. Applied Planning also arranged multiple meetings with community groups and interested public agencies, as well as meetings with community leaders involved in the Project’s ultimate approval by the County’s Board of Supervisors.
