Swift Transportation Facility

Applied Planning was retained by Swift Transportation to manage the entitlement process for a new 85-acre terminal located within the City of Rialto. Applied Planning was responsible for managing the environmental review and documentation processes, providing liaison with City Staff, and developing and implementing a community outreach program.

The proposed terminal facility includes 590 passenger vehicle parking spaces, 173 truck tractor parking spaces, 865 truck trailer parking spaces, a 10,500-square-foot canopy over a semi-truck fueling island, and four 10,000-gallon above-ground fuel storage tanks. Buildings to be constructed on the site include an approximately 40,000-square-foot repair building plus an additional 7,200 square feet of offices on the second floor, an approximately 7,500-square-foot storage building, and a 900-square-foot fuel island office.
