Val Verde USD

Val Verde Unified School District (District) provides public education and related facilities for grades K-12, pre-school education programs, and alternative educational opportunities. The District has initiated forward planning activities in anticipation of growth in the easterly portions of its jurisdiction. In support of these planning activities, Applied Planning has assisted the District in the CEQA process for the following Projects:

Boulder Springs Elementary School
(650 students, grades K-5)
Initial Study/Negative Declaration

This Project involved construction of classrooms (with space for the future development of preschool and kindergarten classrooms, and relocatable classrooms), administrative offices, a food service area, and hardcourt and turf areas.

Lasselle Elementary School
(850 students, grades K-5)
Initial Study/Negative Declaration

The Project provides for construction of 24 standard classrooms, eight modular classrooms (with space for four additional modular classrooms to be added in the future), three kindergarten classrooms, administrative offices, a cafeteria/multi-use room and a lunch shelter. Softball and baseball fields, basketball courts, and a soccer field are also included as part of the Project design.

Southeast High School
(3,000 students, grades 9-12)
Environmental Impact Report

Included in the Project is approximately 280,000 square feet of construction. Notable outdoor improvements reflected in the Project design include a lighted athletic stadium, ball fields, and hardcourt areas. The stadium bleacher seating will accommodate over 5,000 people.

May Ranch Elementary School
(850 students, grades K-5)
Initial Study/Negative Declaration

This Project involved construction of kindergarten and elementary school classrooms, with locations specified for eight future portable classrooms (to house an additional 200 students) should they be needed. Ball fields and hardcourt areas are also provided.

Indian Middle School
(1,200 students, grades 6-8)
Environmental Impact Report

The Project involves construction of seven standard classroom buildings, with areas allocated for two additional future classroom buildings. Administrative offices, a gymnasium, and an outdoor lunch shelter are also included as part of the campus design. The Middle School campus will also include playing fields, as well as track and basketball courts.

Red Maple Elementary School
(650 students, grade K-5)
Initial Study/Negative Declaration

The Project involves construction of 32 standard classrooms (eight of which utilize modular construction), two kindergarten classrooms, a library/media center, administrative offices, a food service area, and hardcourt and turf playground areas.

Citrus Hill (Westside) High School
(2,500 students, grades 9-12)
Mitigated Negative Declaration

Construction of 56 standard classrooms, with areas allocated for another 32 future classrooms. Classroom facilities realized under the Project will accommodate science studies, musical arts, and technical and vocational arts. A library/media center, performing arts theater, and gymnasium with shower and locker rooms are also proposed, along with a full-service kitchen and cafeteria. Administrative offices, outdoor lunch shelters and kiosks are also included in the campus design. The high school campus will also include a 3,000-seat stadium for athletics, with associated ticket kiosk, snack bar, press box and restroom facilities.

Columbia (Southwest) Elementary School
(650 students, grades K-5)

This Project involved construction of 19 standard classrooms, two kindergarten classrooms, a library/media center, administrative offices, a food service area, and hardcourt and turf playground areas.

Triple Crown Elementary School
(650 students, grades K-5)

The Project will realize construction of classrooms (with space for the future development of modular classrooms), a multi-use building, administrative offices, a food service area, and hardcourt and turf areas.

Val Verde High School
(450 students, grades 9-12)
Initial Study/Negative Declaration

The Project proposes construction of five freestanding buildings surrounding a central landscaped area and hardcourt basketball/volleyball courts, with additional adjacent areas for athletics. Areas were allocated for the addition of up to 12 future relocatable classrooms.

Preissman Elementary School
(650 students, grades K-5)

This Project involved construction of 19 standard classrooms, two kindergarten classrooms, a library/media center, administrative offices, a food service area, and hardcourt and turf playground areas.

Stoneridge Middle School
(1,250 students, grades 6-8)
Initial Study/Negative Declaration

This Project involved construction of permanent classroom facilities (with space for additional modular classrooms to be added in the future), administrative offices, a library, a gymnasium, and a lunch shelter. The school will also include a hardcourt play area, softball and baseball fields, a soccer field, and a track and football field.
